Hi! I’m Facundo Illobre.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, and university lecturer originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have been passionate about understanding the complexity of human beings for as long as I can remember. In psychology and psychotherapy, I found a powerful map to explore and illuminate the lights and shadows of human existence.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, addressing a wide variety of psychological challenges including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, addictions, interpersonal difficulties, and existential crises.

I am a Certified Schema Therapist by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). I had the honor of training with the model’s creator, Jeffrey Young, and narcissism expert Wendy Behary at the Schema Therapy Institutes of New York/New Jersey. Learning and practicing Schema Therapy has equipped me with invaluable tools to understand and navigate some of the most challenging psychological expressions.

I have been interested in Jungian psychology for over 10 years. After completing my undergraduate degree in psychology, I earned my Master of Arts in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies at the renowned Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex in England. During my master’s, I had the opportunity to learn from internationally renowned academics and to deepen my understanding of Jungian psychology theory and practice.

Beyond psychology and psychotherapy, I have always been interested in the profound insights that the symbolic treasures of spiritual traditions can offer in understanding humanity. I am currently studying at Fundación Vocación Humana, led by Dr. Bernardo Nante. Among the rich spiritual traditions, I have always felt a particular affinity with Buddhism, especially the Zen perspective. I strive to incorporate these understandings and tools into my practice when appropriate.

I am also committed to teaching and research. Since 2022, I have been working as a university lecturer and am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Essex in England.
